    Product Description

Eddy Mark IV - EP-7ULM (Made in USA)

The Eddy Mark IV EP-7ULM is a top-tier, industrial-grade variable temperature heat gun engineered for high-heat professional and heavy-duty applications that require powerful, controlled flameless heating in demanding environments. As part of Eddy Products' legendary Mark IV series—crafted in the USA for over 50 years—this model delivers exceptional reliability, durability, and performance for continuous or intermittent use in workshops, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities. Weighing just 2.75 lbs (including stand), it provides superior portability without sacrificing robustness, outputting variable heat from 750°F to 1000°F at a consistent 27 CFM airflow. UL-listed for safety and backed by a two-year warranty, the EP-7ULM features a break-resistant mica heating element with a suspended quick-change design for hassle-free maintenance, making it the ultimate tool for tasks like heavy paint stripping, robust shrinking, and industrial curing.

    Key Features

    • Premium Construction: Body, handle, trigger guard, and integrated safety stand molded from G.E. Lexan 940A Resin—a UL-approved, flame-retardant polycarbonate (10 MFR, mold-released) for outstanding impact resistance, electrical insulation, corrosion protection, and a cool-to-the-touch exterior during extended operation.
    • Advanced Heating Element: Break-resistant mica element in a unique suspended quick-change configuration allows tool-free replacement, extending element life and simplifying servicing for maximum uptime.
    • Precise Controls: Adjustable air intake regulator for variable temperature settings within the 750°F-1000°F range, complemented by a toggle switch for hot (heated air), cold (ambient airflow for cooling), or off modes, ensuring tailored heat application.
    • Superior Airflow System: Delivers steady 27 CFM at 3,300 FPM through a double-jacketed nozzle and shield, which efficiently dissipates heat to prevent overheating while enabling focused or broad heat distribution via the 1 3/16" opening.
    • User-Replaceable Components: Carbon brushes and springs for easy motor maintenance, with full parts availability to prolong overall tool life.
    • Ergonomic Design: Lightweight at 2.75 lbs with a built-in circular safety stand for stable, hands-free use, ideal for benchtop precision or mobile fieldwork.

These features position the EP-7ULM as a high-performance upgrade for professionals needing intense heat with industrial-grade resilience.

    Extended Warranty

Eddy Products stands behind the EP-5ULM with a 2-year parts and labor warranty (updated as of 12/1/2024), offering peace of mind and long-term reliability. The heat gun is designed for easy servicing, with all parts available for maintenance even after the warranty period, ensuring it remains a one-and-done investment for professionals.

    Applications

The EP-7ULM's high-temperature capability (up to 1000°F) makes it versatile for intense heat tasks across industries, from shrinking and curing to stripping and thawing. Below are key applications, categorized by sector:

    • Aircraft: Apply shrink tubing and fittings; fast-cure and dry epoxies; dry specimens/samples; dry and pre-heat materials; dry assemblies and glassware; raise/maintain temperatures of liquids/solids/gases; soften, form, and bend plastic tubing.

    Usage and Safety

    • Operation: Adjust the air intake regulator to dial in temperatures from 750°F-1000°F, and use the toggle switch for hot (full heated output), cold (ambient air for cooling/dust removal), or off settings. The built-in stand allows hands-free positioning for precise, stationary tasks—simply place it down and activate for controlled application.
    • Maintenance: Inspect and replace brushes or the mica heating element periodically using the quick-change system (parts kits readily available). Clean the nozzle to preserve airflow, and store in a cool, dry place after using the cold setting to fully cool the unit.
    • Safety Features:
      • UL-listed for rigorous electrical safety standards.
      • Double-jacketed nozzle and Lexan shield maintain cool external surfaces, minimizing burn risks.
      • Three-wire grounded cord with neoprene jacketing and strain relief protects against electrical hazards.
      • Suspended element and replaceable components reduce failure risks for safe, prolonged operation.
      • Integrated stand ensures stability to prevent tip-overs.
    • Guidelines: Operate only in well-ventilated areas to disperse fumes; wear PPE including heat-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing; keep at least 6 inches from flammable materials; never leave unattended while powered; allow complete cooldown before storage or handling. Consult the manual for model-specific tips.

Adhering to these ensures efficient, risk-free performance in professional settings.

      Quality

Posted by Recent Buyer on 4th Nov 2024

I'm in the automotive industry, and we use heat guns all the time. The Eddy Mark IV heat guns are the best I've ever used. I've had a Master Appliance heat gun before, very nice heat gun as well, but the price for the Eddy heat guns are so much better and the performance is equal. Buy Eddy heat guns!!! I love them.
