Product Description
The Eddy Mark IV heat guns use an Eaton manufactured, 3 Position Toggle Switch (OFF-ON-ON). We have these specially made just for our heat guns because of the rarety of the OFF-ON position settings on switches made by manufactures these days. All Eddy Products Mark IV heat guns use the same Eaton Toggle Swich with the off position down, cold run position straight, and the hot position in the upper setting (which turns the heat heating element on). We have to have that "Cold" on position so it runs our heat guns without having the heating element turned on and the reason for why our heat guns, especially the EP-5ULM, EP-6ULM, EP-7ULM and EP-1100 Plus model heat guns must run on the "Cold" setting, is to cool down the heating element inside the steel nozzle that's connected to both the heat gun housing, and heat gun cover. The housing and cover are made of Lexan 940A (Mixture of plastic and fiberglass) and have a melting point a little bit lower than the high heat temperatures that our heating elements put out. So by not running the heat gun on its "Cold Setting", you're risking damage to the heat gun cover and housing. We have the OFF-COLD-HOT toggle positions molded into our heat gun covers so you know what each position of the switch is for.
