Product Description
Iroda 60/40 Rosin Core Solder (w/ Flux):
(includes 3 tubes of Iroda 60/40 solder)
Every Iroda Soldering Iron Kit comes with a roll of 60/40 Rosin Core Solder with a 1.0mm diameter. The solder is consisted of 60% Tin and 40% Lead and has a flux core. This type of solder is mainly used when making electric or electronic connections. When making electric connections, always use rosin core solder. The diameter of the solder wire should generally match the size of the components being joined.
What does soldering actually mean?
Soldering is a process used for joining metal parts to form a mechanical or electrical bond. It typically uses a low melting point metal alloy (solder) which is melted and applied to the metal parts to be joined and this bonds to the metal parts and forms a connection when the solder solidifies.
Soldering is not the same as Brazing!
Brazing is the process for joining two pieces of metal that involves the application of heat and the addition of a filler metal. This filler metal, which has a lower melting point than the metals to be joined, is either pre-placed or fed into the joint as the parts are heated usually with a torch. Fillers that have a melting point higher than 842 degrees Fahranheit (450 Degree Celcius) is known as Brazing, and fillers with a melting point lower than 842 Degrees Fahranheit (450 Degrees Celcuis) is known as Soldering.
