Iroda S-54 is a hot-air blower tip designed for the Iroda/Pro-Iroda SolderPro 80 and SolderPro 90 (including 90K kit) series of cordless butane soldering irons.

It is the standard hot-air blower tip in the SolderPro 90K kit and is also used on the SolderPro 80.
Design and Construction
The S-54 is a catalytic hot-air attachment typical of Iroda’s butane tools. It contains a delicate internal catalyst that converts the butane/air mixture into flameless heated airflow through the 6.5 mm nozzle. Unlike the S-51 and S-52 soldering tips, it is built for non-contact heat rather than direct solder transfer.
Like other tips in the series, it uses a quick-change design: the entire tip assembly unscrews via a knurled nut. Always allow the tip to cool fully before changing it, and avoid overtightening or mechanical shock, as the internal catalyst is fragile. Keep the nozzle clear of melted plastic or debris so airflow stays consistent.
Compatibility
Primarily for:
- Iroda SolderPro 90 / 90K
- Iroda SolderPro 80 / 80K
It is not interchangeable with the S-07 hot-air blower used on the smaller Pro-50/Pro-70 series, or with the PS-10 hot-air blower used on Pro-100/110/120/150 tools. The Ø 9.8 mm base and overall form factor are specific to the 80/90 platform.
Typical Applications
The 6.5 mm hot-air nozzle is optimized for directed flameless heat rather than soldering:
- Shrinking heat-shrink tubing
- Softening adhesives, plastics, and shrink films
- Light drying, warming, and heat-forming work
- Crafts, electrical harness work, and field repairs
- Tasks where contact with a soldering tip would damage the part
It is not intended as a primary soldering tip. For precision electronics use the S-51 conical tip; for wiring and larger joints use the S-52 chisel tip; for cutting foam or synthetics use the S-53 hot knife.
Performance Notes
On the SolderPro 90, the tip reaches working temperature in about 17 seconds. Heat output is adjustable via the iron’s gas control lever. The hot-air function runs hotter than the soldering tips, around 1300 °F (650 °C). Runtime of the iron itself is up to about 53 minutes per fill on mid setting, depending on gas quality and conditions.
Proper care significantly extends tip life:
- Keep the nozzle unobstructed.
- Do not press the outlet against surfaces or clog it with melted material.
- Let the assembly cool before removal or storage.
- Avoid mechanical impact to the catalyst housing.
- Use only as a heat source, not as a pry or scraper.
